A series of A1 and A2 size interpretive signs supplied in encapsulated GRP and complete with a mixture of both oak and steel lectern frames. Usually artwork supplied although we helped out with the design of some panels and undertook the scanning of some watercolour illustrations.

National Trust Stackpole

An extensive project interpreting this coastal area – we were appointed by Corvidae Ltd. From artwork supplied we produced a range of large entrance bollards, finger posts and interpretation panels on oak lectern frames. To provide a tactile element some panels included sandblasted timber components. A very challenging install project!

Perth & Kinross Countryside Trust

A regular client for a range of outdoor grade interpretation. This encapsulated GRP sign was one of a series, produced from artwork supplied , complete with pressure treated softwood posts. Shelley organised the installing.

Budgets

Very often projects are grant funded. Please feel free to speak to us at an early stage of the project – we are more than happy to provide budget prices and a range of options. We understand that projects have to start somewhere and that they often take a long time between the initial contact and a job actually being delivered and installed!

Artwork

Shelley can help with an entire project from design through to manufacture and install or can just help with some sections. We have a full graphic design team in-house who can design panels including research, scripting, supplying illustrations and creating maps. You can, of course, provide as many component parts as you wish and we can work design up from there.

Some clients have in-house designers or prefer to work with a regular graphic designer. We are always happy to work from your own electronic artwork, supplied as a high resolution, print quality PDF. We will provide a ½ size paper proof for you to sign off before we go to full production.

Materials

For outdoor signs and graphics we normally recommend our robust, easy to clean encapsulated Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP). Using Shelley techniques this is a really well proven solution with bright vibrant colours, great print quality and excellent colour fastness. It can be easily cleaned and offers a good resistance to vandalism. We examples of signs that have been out for over 10 years, in exposed locations, with no colour fade but as standard we offer a 5 year warranty against fading.

Internal signs can be produced in a wide range of materials depending on the applications. Light weight signs can be supplied as banner or canvas prints while more robust and rigid internal interpretation can be supplied on a range of PVCs and acrylics while some interesting timbers can extend the range of options.

Fixings

Shelley offer a wide range of fixing options with lecterns, vertical post mounted signs and wall mounted options available in oak, pressure treated softwood, mild steel and stainless steel. The mild steel options are galvanised and powder coated.
